Rules for Dublin

Permits

We handle your Dublin roofing permit application and coordinate required City reviews and inspections. You won’t need to manage the permit application or City paperwork yourself. Dublin’s FY2026/27 single-family roofing-replacement fee is $326, effective July 1, 2026. Technology, state and any scope-specific charges can add to that base; we confirm the assessed total before payment. ARS allows approximately one week for permitting; issuance is not guaranteed.

Shake conversion or damaged decking

For a shake-to-composition roof, we arrange the new-sheathing inspection before covering. If dry rot is found during a composition tear-off, we coordinate the required inspection before installation continues.

Recycling the tear-off material

For covered remodeling work, at least 65% of construction waste must be diverted. We check the roof’s waste-plan and hauling requirements, arrange the debris handling, and manage the roofing disposal records.

From the Dublin building department and our own project records. Rules updated October 15, 2026; permit-fee references reviewed October 11, 2026; detailed inspection guidance checked October 10, 2026. Fees change, so we confirm yours when we pull the permit.

Inspections

Inspections and booking

  1. Deck and sheathing — For composition-to-composition tear-off, Dublin requires a tear-off inspection when dry rot is present, followed by final. Shake-to-composition work requires a sheathing inspection. We confirm the pre-cover check for any repaired or replaced decking before concealing it.
  2. In-progress — Dry rot on shake or composition reroofs triggers Dublin’s in-progress requirement, which may involve underlayment removal, replacement sheathing, nailing or battens. Composition-to-composition work without that condition does not have a routine in-progress stage in the standard sequence; we follow any additional checks on your permit.
  3. Final closeout — Required after roofing and applicable code/energy/chimney-spark-arrestor requirements are complete. We provide the completed CF-1R-ALT identifying products and installation; smoke/CO compliance must be inspected before permit final.
  4. Scheduling — We request through Citizen Self-Service by 5 a.m. on inspection day, or call 925-833-6620 by 4:45 p.m. the prior business day. AM/PM requested windows are not exact appointments; we call 7:15–8 a.m. for inspector coordination.
