Permits
We handle your Contra Costa County roofing permit application and coordinate required reviews and inspections. You won’t need to manage the permit application or City paperwork yourself. County reroof base components are $150 plus $38 processing, before surcharges and any separate local approval charges. We obtain the total assessment for your roof. ARS allows approximately one week for permitting; issuance is not guaranteed.
Waste-plan triggers
Residential alterations affecting 1,000 square feet, valued at $50,000 or more, or increasing conditioned area can trigger Orinda’s waste-plan review. We check whether a smaller partial reroof or no-debris overlay qualifies for an exemption and manage the applicable roofing paperwork.
Recycling closeout
For a covered project, at least 65% of construction debris must be diverted. We complete Green Halo reporting and obtain Orinda’s approval before booking County final; retaining paper receipts alone does not finish the process.
Inspection during installation
We coordinate the County inspection while the new roofing is going on, followed by final. We confirm any deck or nailing inspection before work is covered and schedule the crew around the required approvals.

Inspections and booking
County inspection holds — County stages are 123 Roof/In Progress, preferably 25–75% complete for composition, then 120 Final after completion. We confirm deck, repair and nailing holds—including code 108—before covering, and obtain approval at every assigned stage; a separate deck visit depends on the permit.
Final closeout — Orinda reroofs of at least 10 squares/1,000 square feet require 65% diversion and WMP closeout: we upload receipts and select Submit for Final in Green Halo, obtain release of the City hold before booking County final, and check any separate planning-final hold. Paper tickets alone are not accepted. The August 2023 guide targets 24–48 hours for review.
